Who We Are

Organize the Future is a solutions-based civic publication that distributes op-ed pieces and analytical content for placement in newspapers and online news channels across the United States. The website organizethefuture.org is operated as a publishing platform connecting authors, news outlets, and allied organizations around four editorial lanes: Extreme Weather, Democratic Republic, Where Partisans Agree, and Live the Future.

What Information We Collect and Why

We collect information through registration and signup processes, contact forms, and newsletter subscriptions. The information collected varies by context and is used only for the purposes described at the point of collection and in this policy.

Information collected through this site may include name, email address, phone number, professional title, organizational affiliation, website address, social media handles, geographic information, and content submitted for editorial purposes such as biography text and writing samples.

We collect this information to operate the editorial functions of this publication — including verifying author credentials, coordinating content distribution, building relationships with news outlets and allied organizations, sending editorial communications, and publishing submitted content.

We do not collect more information than is necessary for these purposes. We do not use information collected through this site for advertising or commercial purposes unrelated to our editorial mission.

Administrative and Operational Systems

Information submitted through this site may be processed and stored using administrative management systems, editorial coordination tools, and third party email delivery services used in our editorial operations. These systems are used solely to support the functions described in this policy. Any third party services used in this capacity are selected for their compliance with applicable data protection standards and are not authorized to use your information for their own purposes.

We do not sell, rent, or share your personal information with any third party for marketing or commercial purposes.

Email Communications and Mail Delivery

Email communications sent from this site — including confirmation emails, newsletter updates, and editorial notifications — may be processed through third party email delivery services. These services receive only the information necessary to deliver the email and are bound by their own data protection policies. Your email address is not shared with these services for any purpose beyond delivery of communications you have consented to receive.

If you have opted in to receive newsletter updates you may opt out at any time by clicking the unsubscribe link in any newsletter email or by contacting us at Editor@organizethefuture.org. Opting out of the newsletter does not affect any other relationship you have with Organize the Future.

How Long We Retain Your Data

Newsletter subscriber records are retained for as long as the subscription is active. If you unsubscribe or request deletion your record is removed within 30 days.

Author records are retained for the duration of the editorial relationship and for a reasonable period thereafter for administrative and publication record purposes. Submission tracking records are retained as part of the editorial archive.

News outlet and organization records are retained for as long as the relationship is active and for a reasonable period thereafter for administrative purposes.

Contact form inquiries are retained for 12 months and then deleted unless an ongoing editorial relationship has been established.

Published Content and the Editorial Record

Op-ed pieces, analytical articles, and other editorial content published on this website are part of the permanent editorial record of Organize the Future. Published content includes author bylines, author biography text as submitted for publication, and the content of the op-ed itself.

If you request deletion of your personal data, we will remove your contact information, profile records, signup form submissions, and any unpublished biographical or credential data from our systems within 30 days of your verified request.

However, published editorial content — including your byline, your published author biography, and the text of op-eds published under your name — will remain on the site and in the editorial archive. Removing published content would alter the historical editorial record, misrepresent the publication’s history, and potentially affect the integrity of other content that references or links to that work. This is standard practice in editorial publishing and is a condition of publishing with Organize the Future.

If you wish to discuss the handling of published content in connection with a data deletion request please contact us at Editor@organizethefuture.org and we will consider your request on its merits.

Authors are advised to review this section carefully before submitting content for publication. By submitting an op-ed for publication you acknowledge and accept that published content remains part of the editorial record as described above.

Your Rights

You have the right to request access to the personal data we hold about you. You have the right to request correction of inaccurate data. You have the right to request deletion of your personal data, subject to the editorial record provision described above. You have the right to withdraw consent for newsletter communications at any time. You have the right to request a copy of your data in a portable format.

To exercise any of these rights please contact us at Editor@organizethefuture.org with the subject line Data Request. We will respond within 30 days.

Data Security

This website is protected by industry-standard security measures including SSL encryption, security scanning, and access controls. Form submissions are stored in a secured WordPress database accessible only to authorized editorial staff. We take reasonable precautions to protect your information from unauthorized access, use, or disclosure.

No method of transmission over the internet or method of electronic storage is 100 percent secure. While we use commercially reasonable means to protect your information we cannot guarantee its absolute security.

Cookies

This website uses cookies to support basic site functionality including login sessions and security. We do not use cookies for advertising or behavioral tracking purposes. If you leave a comment on the site, cookies may be set to remember your name and email for future comment submissions. These cookies last for one year.

Articles on this site may include embedded content such as videos or social media posts. Embedded content from other websites behaves as if you had visited those websites directly and those sites may collect data about you according to their own privacy policies.
